About me

Hi! My name is Sherif. I made this page to share some of the things I'm working on.

My research focuses on building general robots that understand the world with common sense. I'm excited about all the applications that will open up for robotics, from manufacturing, to aerospace (robots on Mars!).

I did my undergrad in Aerospace Engineering, and I'm now doing my master's in Robotics at TU Delft. For my thesis I'll be working on multi-modal self-supervised representation learning across point clouds, camera images, and language. A related reference point is Concerto.

I enjoy working on different side projects, either my own or helping out others. I think working on many very different things makes one a better engineer. That being said, I'm always open to ideas or proposals for more cool stuff to work on. Below are some highlights.

More about me

Outside of work, I like to spend time running and reading. If you're in The Hague area and want to go for a run, or if you have any book recommendations, feel free to reach out to me at sherif-nafie@hotmail.com.

Some of my favorite recommendations at the moment. This changes every now and then, but I can assure you that these are definitely worth the read.
